Getting emotional and physical support from family and friends is an important step in caring for someone with Alzheimer’s disease. Due to the varying dynamics of our relationships, this may or may not be easy.
They’re either going to be there for you or they’re going to be a pain in your ass. But it’s up to you to give them an opportunity to help by including them in the process. If they are kept in the dark, it is unreasonable for you to expect them to understand, let alone help. When possible, differences must be put aside and open communication should be established.
