Show Notes:
In the last episode, we discussed determining what your deal breakers are for caring for a loved one on your own and when to seek professional help, or consider a move to memory care.
In this episode of Navigating Rough Terrain with The Dementia Sherpa, Christy Turner and I discuss how to know when it’s time for professional memory care or if that’s even what you want.
This is a very tough question which is eventually faced by practically every family who is caring for someone living with dementia. As with most dementia topics, there is no black and white answer.
Christy will help you understand what it is that you are hoping for and how to achieve it, and we have a good discussion on how to find the right memory care community when and if the time is right.
Christy has run award-winning memory care communities in assisted living and skilled nursing levels of care.
She is a Certified Dementia Practitioner, Certified Dementia Care Unit Manager, and Cognitive Stimulation Instructor.
Using her 16 years of experience in working with over 1,100 people living with dementia and their families, she’s developed a system that helps families move from crisis management to confidence.

I hope you enjoy this episode.
