Because dementia is an “invisible” disease, it’s easy to meet a person with Alzheimer’s and not realize the daily struggles they face.
On the outside everything may seem OK, but make no mistake, it takes a special set of strategies for a person with dementia and their care partner to continue to live positively with the disease.
I recently had a wonderful conversation with Laurie Scherrer where she talked about how she and her husband Roy work 1 day at a time to implement strategies which allow them to stay active and enjoy life.
